Yours truly is in this week’s Chicago Reader. In of all places, the fashion section. There is a regular feature called, “What Are You Wearing?” I made the grade. There’s a nice interview by Jessica Hopper (This American Life‘s music director) and some equally nice images by Saverio Truglia. Thanks gang.
The image they used in the newspaper. This was shot in the Chinatown neighborhood in Chicago.
A bonus image taken while I my song Cedar was sleeping in a Mexican rebozo sling.

Captain Turk Miller
Etching with aquatint and hand-coloring
Chicago based Michael Pajon finds bits for his collages from our rich graphic heritage and inspiration from Victorian illustrations for his etchings. I both admire and am horrified by his artwork. I collect and adore vintage illustrations, children’s books, cards, etc.. The artwork Michael makes is strikingly beautiful. What makes me ache is the realization that all these cool visuals were chopped out of their original materials. What can I say, I’m an archivist at heart. I guess I prefer the photoshop method of collage as a less destructive form.I still love Michael’s work though.Michael was one of the featured artists at the Allegoric Chicago show at the Chicago Country Club art gallery earlier this month.
